This paper presents a summary of the life and work of Dr. José Manuel Osorio Rojas, a distinguished 20th-century scientist. The document was prepared by reviewing bibliographic material held at the Marco Aurelio Rojas Entomology Library of the Lisandro Alvarado Central-Western University (UCLA). His professional life is divided into three stages—Cuba, the United States, and Venezuela—highlighting his achievements as a professor of entomology, his research work, and his scientific expeditions. Dr. Osorio, the founder of the UCLA Entomology Museum and its entomology academic programs, is and will be remembered for the humility and perseverance he demonstrated in the classroom, the laboratory, and during frequent field trips to collect the insects that now form part of the José M. Osorio Entomology Museum (MJMO).Downloads
