The purpose of this essay is aimed at analyzing the importance of social capital (CS) for the performance of nurses in the area of Public Health, areas of action and role in the world today community nursing is the discipline that synthesizes the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of nursing and public health and applies them, through direct and indirect care to people, families, other groups and the community as a whole in order to promote, maintain and restore the health of the population. Hence, the nursing professional as human capital and social capital (CS), is much more than the set of productive capacities that an individual acquires by accumulating general or specific knowledge, nursing care in every sense perfectly responds to this analysis of CS, because it develops within a relationship nurse-person (family, groups) that receives assistance
