This is Volume 14, Number 2 (July–December 2026) of Mayéutica revista científica de humanidades y artes published by the Decanato de Humanidades y Artes at the Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado (UCLA), Venezuela. Even in the midst of the adversity and sadness that overwhelm us, we are pleased to present an issue featuring a diversity of content and disciplines: the Cauca chirimía of Colombia, the history of the piano in Barquisimeto, art as material sublimation, flamenco, Venezuelan political culture, Borges, online teaching at the University of Catania, the poet Ramos Sucre, the connection between neurodiversity and art, children’s songs based on poems by García Lorca and Miguel Hernández, and a posthumous tribute to Professor Consuelo Iranzo, a researcher at the Center for Development Studies at the Central University of Venezuela.

It is an arbitrated and indexed biannual publication with open and free access. It is edited by the Decanato Experimental de Humanidades y Artes of the Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, and is conceived as a space to consolidate the scientific humanistic character of the University through the registration and dissemination of knowledge generated in the ways of the evolution of thought and action of each one of the four programs that make up the Deanery: Artes Plásticas, Música, Psicología y Desarrollo Humano. It created at 2013.
