Author Biography

  • Mauricio Iranzo Tacoronte, Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado

    Sociologist, graduate of the Central University of Venezuela (1977); Master’s degree in Regional Development Planning (1984); and Ph.D. in Decentralization and Land Use Planning from the University of Paris III, Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, France (1988). Retired Associate Professor and former Dean of the Humanidades y Artes de la Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, UCLA, (UCLA) (2013–2016). Director and founder of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Human Development and faculty member of the program (2007–2013); graduate-level instructor in Strategic Planning at the School of Administration and Accounting (1998–2006); and Coordinator of the Research Unit on Regional and Local Development at UCLA (2006).
