Publication Ethics

Gaceta Técnica is a publication for the dissemination of knowledge generated by different actors in the world of research, in the area of ​​civil engineering, architecture, urban planning. Therefore, the editorial team adopts what is established by the Publications Ethics Committee in order to guarantee rigor and scientific quality with an ethical commitment [1]. 

Regarding the editorial committee  

·         The committee is solely responsible for deciding on the articles received, which will continue with the review process, considering the editorial policy of the journal.
·         It must adopt the best methods of blind review, and ensure that the contributions provided by the researchers are reviewed by qualified evaluators in the field.
·         To urge evaluators to be alert of possible plagiarism.
·         Comply with confidentiality criteria regarding the entire process of sending documents, reviews, authors and evaluators. Inform about acts of negligence of both, authors and evaluators.
·         The members of the editorial committee and the advisory committee of the journal, according to the condition of experts in the field, are included in the peer review with full knowledge of the duties and responsibilities they assume as evaluators.
·         However, when there is a conflict of interest, they must recuse themselves for reasons of competition.
·         In relation to the published articles, if there is any case of an accusation to the same either for plagiarism and an attack on ethics, the editorial body will take the required measures in order to open an investigation process, which could be concluded in case of be true the allegations presented, in the withdrawal of the document, or publication of the corresponding errata.
·         When, in relation to an article already published, there have been complaints of an ethical nature or there is evidence that its content or conclusions are erroneous, the Journal will adopt whatever measures are necessary or reasonably necessary, including the opening of the corresponding investigation process, the withdrawal of work or publication of the corresponding rectification. 

Regarding the evaluators 
·        The evaluators will accept those contributions for which they are trained as experts in the area, they will excuse themselves from the request made in case they consider they are not, or when there is a conflict of interest.
·         In case of accepting the review, they must comply with the dates established to issue the respective verdict and observations
·         They will not try to contact the authors if they involve authorship
·         In case of considering that the contribution should be reviewed by another qualified expert, he will contact the editorial committee and make the appropriate recommendations in this regard.
·         They will accept confidentiality during the evaluation process, as well as after the publication of the assigned document.
·         They must use the "Format for Reviewers" [2] in order to issue the corresponding observations of the evaluation process 

Regarding the authors  

·         The authors will present their scientific contributions with honesty, refraining from omitting the appointment of works of third parties, as well as referencing those that they have not used faithfully.
·         They must send to the editorial committee the "Proof of originality of articles" [3] duly signed by each author, stating the originality of the same and possible conflicts of interest.
·         Avoid sending the same document to other publications in order to be considered for possible publication at the same time.
·         In the event that any contribution has been benefited with contributions from third parties, they should be reflected in the context of the article. In the event that a contribution has been financially benefited either by a public or private entity, this contribution should be reflected in the context of the article.
·         Forward the contributions considering the "Guidelines for Authors" [4]
·         Collaborate with the editorial body by sending in the assigned times the corrections or observations to the document, emanating from the peer review.
·         Send in conjunction with the reissued document considering the observations, the authors will send an additional document indicating where the modifications were made, as well as any additional comments regarding them, if any.

Errata, corrections and retractions

Gaceta Técnica journal follows the recommendations considered in CoPe retraction Guidelines in relation to the correction and retraction of publications, in order to avoid bad scientific practices. The journal's policy is not to alter or delete any published scientific record, considering that the articles must remain unchanged as far as possible. However, Gaceta Técnica responds to the suggestions of readers, reviewers, authors, related to the fact that a publication violates scientific or ethical misconduct, with declared evidence that the published data have errors. This requires that an Errata, Correction, or Retraction it will be published in a later issue.

Errata

An errata notice it will be published when it is necessary to correct an error or omission made by the journal, which may affect the registration of the publication or the reputation of the authors or the journal, but where the academic integrity of the article remains intact. Errors can be such as author name, email, keywords, title, significant typographical errors, errors in figure or table numbers or their legends, proofreading submitted but not included in the article during editing.

Corrections

A notice of correction previously requested by the author(s) it will be produced when it is necessary to correct an error or omission made by them that affects the registration of the publication, reputation of the authors, or of the journal, considering, that the academic integrity of the article remains untouched.

Retractions

A retraction notice it will be published when a major error invalidates the article's conclusions, or when there has been research or publication misconduct. The authors can request a retraction from the Editor, as long as there is evidence that the published data is not reliable. In the event of a retraction, the original article will have a digital watermark with the word Retracted

Removal of articles

The removal of an article will take place in exceptional circumstances, in which the errors incurred are of a serious nature and cannot be assumed by means of a correction or retraction.
