Anthropometric characteristics and neonatal adaptation of the newborns of the clinic San Cayetano Manizales, Colombia

Abstract

Research descriptive, retrospective and documentary. Population: pregnant women who attended for delivery care in the clinic San Cayetano de ASSBASALUD between 2009 and 2012 corresponding to 3 355 women (11.5% of all women of Manizales). To describe the anthropometric and neonatal adaptation of newborns product vaginal delivery, and multigestantes primigravidae features. Descriptively compare anthropometric characteristics of newborns had their first product and multigestantes, with regard to weight, height, head and chest circumference. Descriptively compare the characteristics of neonatal adaptation of the newborns had their first and multigestantes related to the neonatal APGAR scale and quantify the number of inspections after primiparous and multiparous made during gestation. The primary source was the book of births, medical history and CLAP, the model adaptation of Callista Roy was taken into account. Data was recorded in Excel 2010, analyzed in SPSS version 17. A smaller percentage of women was observed with more than 4 children (5.8%) exceeded the majority 35. 839 children born each year, only 6.6% were children of adolescent mothers, of these (11.1%) were young people under 15 years, 21.8% were admitted with two, three and four previous births. Children born in this period on average were good weight and size with similar features between multiparous and primiparous no significant difference between the groups was found.
