Abstract

The family business defined as that which mixes roles of ownership, administration and family in its management process, presents changes when making decisions due to disagreements among family members because they are part of different generations have thoughts Different and seek to apply their knowledge acquired throughout their life, as the company grows the new generations approach the labor field and the founders must retire, as the generational characteristics begin to determine the type of business management; This, properly managed, achieves success, provided that its members mix knowledge with the experience of their predecessors to make daily activities a productive dynamic that leads to generate better economic returns, so we study the generational characteristics that influence the management of the company family. Through descriptive research, the experience within the family context is interpreted through the collection of data and personal experiences generated by the generational shock in the company, whose analysis focuses on the administration of the first generation and the beginning of the second, considering Their characteristics and ideological differences. Whose results show that there are competencies that share between the two generations, such as strategy, planning and values, which concludes that for the new members of the family it is difficult to issue criteria because there is no provision of the founder to leave his position and allow Its successors take the management of it.
