Abstract

The purpose of this study was to unveil the meaning of human care at home visit from the experiences of students, nurses and families. It is framed in the post-positivist paradigm, qualitative study and it is approached phenomenologically. The methodology used consisted of interviewing nursing students, community nurses and social actors (families) to narrate the lived experience in the provision of nursing care during home visit. Subsequently, the information was processed in which the categories and subcategories were identified. The findings were based on the qualitative triangulation of information about the senses and meanings of the participants, the authors' contributions and the interpretations of the researcher. From this analysis some findings emerged which indicate that human care and home visit are two phenomena joined together in community nursing. Home visit is a nursing commitment and human care is a collective construction of active intervention and reciprocity mediated by human values
