Efecto modulador del sedentarismo en las variables psicológicas ansiedad y resiliencia

Resumen

Son numerosos los estudios que dan cuenta del efecto negativo de la sedentaridad y su relación con la salud y la calidad de vida. El objetivo principal del estudio fue valorar las relaciones existentes entre sedentarismo, ansiedad y resiliencia. Esta investigación fue de tipo comparativo, descriptivo y exploratorio. Se usó una muestra de 3520 estudiantes universitarios pertenecientes a los grados de Fisioterapia, Enfermería y Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte. Se utilizaron los siguientes cuestionarios: conducta sedentaria en universitarios y ansiedad generalizada. También se seleccionó la escala breve de resiliencia. Los índices de ajuste que se obtuvieron fueron: X2 = 5.20; gl = 2; IFI = 0.95, CFI = 0.93; NFI = 0.88; RMSEA = 0.079. Se observaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas (p < 0.01) en las variables de sedentarismo respecto a la ansiedad (p­ = 0.34) y la resiliencia (p = -0.27). Se encontró una relación positiva moderada entre sedentarismo y ansiedad (β = 0.24, p = 0,018). También se halló una relación negativa entre sedentarismo y resiliencia (β = -0.17, p = 0,032). Finalmente, se indicó que se mostró una relación negativa entre ansiedad y resiliencia modulada por el sedentarismo (β = -0.12, p = 0,025). En todos los casos (p < 0.05). La conclusión más importante a remarcar es el efecto modulador del sedentarismo y la resiliencia sobre los niveles de ansiedad. Son necesarios más estudios sobre esta temática para posteriormente construir programas de intervención
