Essence of the home visit in patients with chronic disease. A shared experience

The purpose of this research is to reveal nursing care, the importance of home nursing visits and the care provided by family members or caregivers to patients with chronic diseases. This research used a design with a qualitative, ethnographic approach; for which semi-structured interviews were conducted with four (4) members of the community, two (2) patients with chronic disease, a (1) family member and a (1) community nurse. The information was processed by coding and categorization and the reliability of the findings was supported by the qualitative triangulation of information. From these observations emerged findings that express that visits represent a means of help and collaboration, each family manages a system of beliefs and different customs to carry their care and nursing care provided are made taking into account the needs and scope of resources
