Utilização de armadilha de água não estéril em pacientes com trauma torácico

Resumo

O gerenciamento adequado do dreno torácico para drenagem pleural em trauma torácico é essencial. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a utilidade do uso de um dreno torácico não estéril para drenagem pleural em pacientes com trauma torácico no “Servicio de Cirugía de Tórax del Servicio Autónomo Hospital Universitario de Maracaibo”. Foram estudados 56 pacientes de ambos os sexos, com idades entre 18 e 85 anos, diagnosticados com trauma torácico. As principais complicações foram hemotórax e pneumotórax e, menos frequentemente, hemopneumotórax e hérnia diafragmática. Apenas dois pacientes (3,6%) apresentaram infecção no local de inserção, nenhum dos quais recebeu antibioticoterapia. Conclui-se que os drenos torácicos não estéreis podem ser usados com segurança em pacientes com trauma torácico, e recomenda-se que esses pacientes recebam antibioticoterapia com cefalosporinas.
