Abstract

Los gerentes intentan crear entornos adecuados para que los empleados experimenten bienestar físico y psicológico en el trabajo, con el propósito de alcanzar los objetivos organizacionales en entornos cada vez más competitivos. Al mismo tiempo, los centros de investigación especializados tratan de ajustar sus procesos para satisfacer las necesidades del mundo empresarial. Por ello, este artículo tiene como objetivo una revisión del tópico engagement laboral, a fin de conocer la importancia que le atribuyen los investigadores, para lo cual se indagó en la base de datos bibliográfica Scopus. Los resultados demuestran que la producción científica sobre el engagement laboral, liderada por dos universidades de Países Bajos, está en pleno auge en diversos campos de estudio al crecer exponencialmente a una tasa anual de 28,39%, que la duplica cada 2,44 años, lo cual demuestra su gran utilidad para académicos, consultores y sector empresarial. Asimismo, se considera una variable clave en la recuperación de sectores empresariales, especialmente aquellos que han sufrido fuertes pérdidas por factores externos como el Covid-19, debido a su gran influencia o interacción con otras importantes variables de resultados organizacionales
