Abstract

This text is a small tribute based on memories that the author shared with maestro Juan Francisco Sans, it is therefore a testimonial text that only aims to attest to what this master represented for the Venezuelan music of the twentieth and twenty­first centuries in his capacity as musicologist, composer, pianist, conductor and cultural promoter.

Author Biography

Miguel Astor, Universidad Central de Venezuela

D. in History from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Bachelor of Artes and Master in Musicología Latinoamericana. He obtained the degrees of Master Composer, Choral Conductor and Piano Teacher graduated from the Conservatorio Nacional de Música “Juan José Landaeta” Conservatorio de la Orquesta Nacional Juvenil. He is retired professor at the Escuela de Artes of the Universidad Central de Venezuela and the Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes. He has also taught music He has also taught music in several conservatories in Caracas. His musical work, his musicological and his pedagogical work have received several national and international awards. and international awards.
