Abstract

Juan Francisco Sans (1960­2022), in addition to being an emblem to a generation of prolific composers, conductors, and musicologists, developed throughout his musical life the most essential and valuable virtue for the development of music in Venezuela: the constant art of self­sacrificing and guiding service towards his students and colleagues, through his empathetic, analytical and sensitive observation.

Author Biography

Silvia Cabrelles Martinelli, Ópera de Cámara de Costa Rica

Venezuelan pianist, trained and qualified as Piano Teacher at the Escuela Superior de Música José Ángel Lamas in Caracas and at the Internationale Musikakademie Wuppertal, Germany. Master in Music Therapy at the University de Cuyo, Argentina. She currently works as a piano accompanist and teacher of the instrument. instrument. Since 2019 she has been working at the Ópera de Cámara de Costa Rica as pianist repertoire of operas and zarzuelas, directed by the Costa Rican soprano Anayanci Quirós Arce.
