Ethic

Code of ethics

Mayeutica, Revista Cientifica de Humanidades y Artes, is committed to maintaining high ethical standards, and is attentive to correcting any professional negligence within the journal, but also of its collaborators.

Regarding the Editorial Board

  • It is the body responsible for deciding whether the articles and essays received will go through the review process, considering the criteria of quality, ethics and the journal's editorial policy.
  • We have a policy of adopting the best blind review methods to ensure that researchers' manuscripts are reviewed by qualified reviewers in the field.
  • We urge referees or evaluators to be alert to possible plagiarism or intellectual dishonesty.
  • We adhere to confidentiality criteria regarding the process of sending manuscripts, reviews, authors and evaluators.
  • We inform authors and referees about acts of negligence, be it the former or the latter.
  • The members of the Editorial Board and the Advisory Board of Mayéutica, a scientific journal of humanities and arts, are included in the peer review with full knowledge of the duties and responsibilities they assume as evaluators. However, when there is a conflict of interest, they must also recuse themselves for competition reasons.
  • In the event that once the article or essay is published, intellectual dishonesty or plagiarism is proven, the Editorial Board will withdraw the document with the respective errata.
  • If, due to a published article or essay, there is any irregularity that compromises ethics, or any evidence is found that its content or conclusions are erroneous, measures will be adopted such as the opening of an investigation process, the withdrawal of the work or the publication of the corresponding rectification.

Regarding referees or evaluators

  • They will accept the review of manuscripts as experts. But, in case they do not consider that they are capable of evaluating a manuscript, they will excuse themselves before the Editorial Board. Same for when there is a conflict of interest.
  • If you accept the revision of the manuscript, you must comply with the dates established to issue the respective verdict and observations.
  • They will not try to contact the authors if they suspect authorship.
  • If you consider that the manuscript should be reviewed by another expert, you will contact the Editorial Board and make the appropriate recommendations in this regard.
  • They will accept confidentiality during the evaluation process, as well as after the publication of the assigned document.

Regarding the authors

  • They will present their manuscripts with criteria of honesty, with due citations from third parties, both verbatim or as a paraphrase.
  • They must send to the Editorial Board a proof of originality of the manuscripts duly signed by each author, declaring their originality and that there are no possible conflicts of interest.
  • They must attest to the same proof of the originality of the manuscript and that they have not sent it to other journals or publications.
  • In the event that for the elaboration of the research there has been a subsidy from third parties, or from some public or private entity, they must declare it in the same text of the manuscript.
  • They will send the manuscripts considering the Norms for the publication of the magazine.
  • They will collaborate with the Editorial Board by sending the corrections or observations to the document within the allotted times, once they have received the peer review.
