Abstract

In this moment, there are three types of marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) they are: MZL splenic LZM, extranodal LZM (MALT lymphoma) and primary lymph node LZM (NM LZM). These kinds of lymphomas have morphological and phenotypic characteristics that somewhat overlapping so different in clinical presentation and behavior. In the same vein, the marginal zone lymphoma (LMZ) it is an indolent mature B-cell neoplasm with variable clinical presentation and distinctive histopathological features.  As mentioned above, there is a case of a 15-year-old female adolescent. She is from Anzoátegui state, Venezuela. Her parents are non-consanguineous, with a personal youth history of polyp polypectomy, and paroxysmal disorder (corrected), competent mitral valve prolapse, inborn error of immunity: common variable immunodeficiency, infection by Epstein-Barr Virus and Hepatitis C Virus. She has a Family history of hemoglobinopathy in her father and brother. Her brother died of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Who presented a medical condition for twelve (12)  months with intermittent fever, cutaneous mucosal sickly, polyarthralgia, diffuse perumbilical abdominal pain, abdominal distension, hyporexia, asthenia, weight loss, cervical, axillary and inguinals adenomegaly,  with nephromegaly, subsequently associated with dizziness, erythematous maculopapular lesions on the face and lower limbs, with persistence of febrile episodes, which temporarily improve with the use of oral steroid for four (4) months. Multidisciplinary evaluations were performed, which included cervical lymph node excision, resulting in immunohistochemical findings compatible with CD5-positive lymphoma of the Marginal Zone Lymph Node, for which the pertinent bibliographic review was carried out.
